The concept of a new generation of Chevrolet Niva officially presented at the MIAS-2014
GM-AvtoVAZ presented the concept of a new generation of the Chevrolet NIVA SUV at the Moscow International Automobile Salon.
The company says that the new look of the SUV, embodied in the concept, reflects the main concept of Chevrolet - Find New Roads (“Search for new roads”). For the character of the car, they ask not to worry: "Where there are no roads, Niva is laying them."
The concept of the new “Shnivy” was created by an international team. The main designer of the project is Ondrey Koromaz, working in the Chinese division of GM. The team of engineers at GM-Avtovaz and the Italian design bureau Blue Engineering have worked to ensure that the new SUV meets the requirements of the Russian buyer, roads, weather, and so on.
Appearance most closely matches the purpose of the SUV: high ground clearance, large wheels with BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T / A 235/70 / R16 tires, engine and front axle protection, snorkel, roof rack with spare wheel, additional lighting.
In "Chevrolet", without specifying the technical characteristics of the concept, limited to only the listing. As previously reported, a 1.8 liter engine is installed under the hood. Its torque is 30% higher than that of the engine installed on the current "shnivy". The prototype of the next Chevrolet Niva will receive a 5-speed manual transmission, permanent four-wheel drive, differential lock, "razdatku" with a low gear.
There is no photo of the open cabin of the conceptual model Chevrolet Niva. It is known that the prototype received a multimedia system with the ability to connect external devices, central locking, security systems, a compass, an instrument for measuring roll, an outdoor temperature sensor.
Earlier, the portal "Wheels.ru" reported that the engine power of the new Chevrolet Niva will be 135 hp At first, the car really will have everything as before: a permanent four-wheel drive and a 5-step “mechanics”. The price of a novelty will be 10-15% higher than the existing "shnivy". Currently, you can buy an SUV with an 80-horsepower engine for 469,000 rubles.
