Never give up
Once, when I was on duty at the department of pathological anatomy, a tiger python was brought to us for an autopsy. Its owner was the owner of a small mobile menagerie who traveled to small towns and villages in the region, showing animals for money. A newly acquired adult python, more than four meters long, was the highlight of the program. For a fee, a couple of times a week, visitors were shown feeding the python with a live rabbit.
When the python was opened, an incredible sight was presented to our attention. An adult rabbit stuck across the esophagus. One of its forepaw was extended forward, and its two hind legs extended backward as far as possible. The pose of the deceased resembled a flying superman. Apparently during the last feeding, the python could not strangle the rabbit to the end and he “came to his senses” already inside the python. Rabbit hero decided to sell his life more expensive. In the last seconds, he tore into pieces the walls of the esophagus, touched the lungs, as a result of which the python painfully died from internal bleeding.
Finishing the autopsy, Vera Mironovna told the assembled students:
“Here are some of you guys, a vivid example of a simple motto:“ Never give up. ” The rabbit could have just died, but he took the python with him and made life very difficult for the person who sent him to death. Remember this rabbit and never give up!
